Watford‘s under 13 boys team has grown from a small group of 3 players, and was able to put out a team of 11 players out on Sunday 9th May to play a game of adapted contact rugby against a strong Enfield outfit.
Watford seemed shell shocked in the first half by the speed and attack of Enfield and the end score line is a reflection of that.
Harsh words by the coaching team at half time and a spirited second half performance, albeit with the help of two Enfield players, earned Watford some rewards for their efforts. They only conceded four tries to Enfield and scored two tries themselves in the much improved second half performance.
A stand out performance in defence from JD and seeing players like PJ, Zack, Luca and James getting their hands on the ball built the team’s confidence. Ethan showed his experience in attack and defence. We are looking forward to seeing the team continuing to grow in confidence for the remainder of this season and next season.
